Meet the Team
At Computeam, we’re proud of being a smaller business and we want to build excellent long-term relationships with our clients. Our schools will already know their own regular technicians and most of our field team, but if you haven’t met that voice on the end of the office phone, have a look at the biographies below. Even better, get in touch to arrange a face-to-face meeting - we love to gather feedback from our existing school clients, and we like to discuss ideas about education technology with new customers.
Jon Butler – Sales Account Manager
Since joining Computeam 2 years ago, Jon has become the main point of contact for many of our clients, and has received consistent praise for his dedication and enthusiasm for getting ICT projects in and working!
“The thing I love most about working at Computeam is building a long-term partnership with a client school and seeing their ICT estate grow and improve over time.I believe that any school can benefit from a well-supported IT solution, and some of the new developments in technology over the past few years have really amazed my clients. If you’d like me to come out and discuss your school’s ICT plans for the future, get in touch I’m always keen!”
Jane Murray - Sales Account Manager
Jane joined us in March 2011, and has made a positive impact building relationships with new and existing clients. Jane has worked in several education ICT providers in the past as an account manager, but this is her first role with an all-round school ICT service provider like Computeam.“I’m looking forward to working with our existing clients and bringing new schools to the company in the future.Working at individual IT hardware and software companies in the past, I’ve always believed that the best approach is for schools to get all or most of their ICT needs from a single partner and it’s a pleasure to work in a company like Computeam that can offer this service".
Jon Crosse – Operations Manager
Many of our clients will know Jon as he’s worked with the business for more than 8 years as a field engineer. Jon’s knowledge and experience in education ICT means that he understands the unique challenges associated with using technology in schools. Like the rest of our team, Jon has seen the fantastic benefits that a well-supported ICT estate can deliver to learners, and is passionate about finding the right solution for every client:
“I love working with our schools, and enjoy the challenge of solving a difficult technical issue. The most rewarding part of my job is getting a project or an installation completely right, first-time so that when the kids come back to school (they usually happen in the holidays) they are amazed by the newly transformed ICT suite or superfast wireless access”
Emma Vickers - Operations Administrator
Emma Joined us recently and has taken over the vital role of Operations Administrator. Emma's highly organised and professional approach is key to the smooth running of operations at Computeam.
Andy Cocking – Technical Director
Andy has been at the frontline delivering ICT support and installation services to our school clients for the past 12 years. In that time he’s seen every ICT issue crop-up and is well aware of the challenges facing each school“Every school is different, and will have its own expectations and hopes for an ICT system. I try to bring new ideas to clients at the cutting edge of ICT, whilst ensuring that less well-equipped schools have the reliable, solid infrastructure they need to build and gain confidence.Getting this balance between reliable ICT and exciting technology is the key to a great solution, I look forward to discussing this with your schools.
Phil Birchinall - Operations Director
Phil has experience from KS1 to KS4, has been a school senior manager and a Local Authority ICT adviser. After nearly 20 years experience Phil is passionate about the impact that good ICT can have. Phil has been heavily involved in all the major ICT initiatives from National Grid for Learning to Building Schools for the Future.
"I have seen many technologies come and go in schools. Only a few have had real impact on teaching and learning. The pace of change is phenomenal and we witness the power of ICT to engage pupils on a daily basis. Exposure and experience of ICT absolutely has the power to enhance life chances for pupils. We strive at Computeam to ensure that high quality ICT is available to staff and pupils to achieve this".
Owen Napier - Managing Director
Owen has worked in Education ICT for the past 8 years as part of Computeam. His experience has ranged from primary-school IT refresh projects to large scale secondary rebuilds under BSF. As well as holding the position of Managing Director Owen delivers consultancy to several large corporate partners, helping to bring the flexibility and grass-roots experience of an SME to their education ICT offerings“ I believe in delivering real benefits to learners by the successful introduction and support of exciting technologies. Our school clients really value the approach we take to solving their issues, and our aim is always to build relationships for the long-term.”
