Computeam Covid-19 Statement for Clients

Updated 24th March 2020

Dear clients, colleagues and friends

Like many of you we have been adapting daily to the changes required as we fight the Coronavirus together. We are here to support all of our Schools and other clients throughout the crisis and would like to thank all of you for the understanding and patience you have shown as our teams deal with high demand and challenging work conditions.

Computeam Service Update

Computeam has completed a transition to remote working for almost all staff. Our service desk is fully operational and all business systems are available and performing well over the internet.

Our field support teams are still supporting clients with emergencies and we are continuing to undertake projects that help enable vital remote working or distance learning solutions.

We have made available some enhanced services for clients including:

  • Extending support to remote workers in their homes where possible

  • Extending technical support to governors and other stakeholders to help facilitate web meetings etc.

  • Providing guidance and training links for remote working and distance learning (see below)

With regard to regular maintenance visits and project work, we are now asking clients if we can complete as much of the work as possible using remote access. Where this is not possible, Computeam field staff will attend site, adhering to social distancing rules, on the basis that hand-washing facilities and a clear space to work are made available.

Remote Working and Distance Learning – Support Available

Now that the majority of our clients have some form of remote access in place, we can offer more comprehensive support and services to enhance the provision of distance learning. The duty a school feels to support their learners shouldn’t be a burden, but a chance to explore new and progressive ways to use technology that is available now, for both teachers and learners.

Distance learning platforms from Microsoft and Google break down the barriers of teachers and pupils being in different places and even operating at different times using free tools. Teachers can interact with learners in online classrooms, set and mark work, provide feedback and vital social contact (particularly important for younger learners) and even support parents and guardians with the often-daunting task of providing structured home learning for their children.

Computeam are committed to supporting our clients with delivering any aspect of distance learning, whatever your needs. Our blog, Working-Teaching-Learning From Home contains carefully curated links to resources that we think are useful. In addition, we have included below the principal links to Google and Microsoft’s main resource hubs

Even if your school has not yet started its journey towards these cloud-based systems, both Google and Microsoft provide fast-track routes and the current partial closure of most schools presents an opportunity for staff to further their skills with targeted CPD while working from home. If you would like to discuss next steps, please contact your account manager to discuss your requirements or send an email in to info@computeam.co.uk and we’ll get straight back to you.

I would like to put on record my thanks for the dedication, resilience and creativity of teachers at this challenging time and repeat again that Computeam stands ready to help in any way we can.
